Steve Shillingford has spent the majority of his career in the cybersecurity field, serving as an advisor, board member, and the CEO of various security-related companies. In his current post, he serves as an advisor for Signal Peak Ventures, a venture capital and private equity company. Outside of his professional life, Steve Shillingford is a fan of the Indianapolis Colts.
In 2016, the Indianapolis Colts have bolstered their offensive line and receiving corps, recently signing free-agent tight end Emil Igwenagu. The Colts made room for the move on their 90-man roster by waiving quarterback Josh Woodrum.
An undrafted rookie, Igwenagu was signed by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012, where he played in three games and made one start that season. He spent the 2013 season bouncing back and forth between the active roster and the team’s practice squad, but did not appear in any games that year. Igwenagu moved on to the Detroit Lions in 2014, spending the entirety of the preseason with the team before being let go in the final September cuts.
Making room for Igwenagu meant letting go of quarterback Josh Woodrum, who was claimed off waivers on May 10 after being released by the New York Giants. He is Liberty University’s all-time leader in passing and total offensive yards, but he likely would have been the fourth quarterback on the Colts’ depth chart, assuming he made the 53-man active roster.
